The GOP establishment may nominate their dream candidate after all
Posted by Jill | 5:30 PM
Let's not kid ourselves that the GOP nominee will be the To Know Him Is To Like Him Less Mitt Romney, the insane Rick Santorum, or the evil Newt Gingrich. The Money Wing of the Republican Party is many things, but stupid isn't one of them.

It will not surprise me one bit if this is how it pans out:
A prominent Republican senator just told me that if Romney can’t win in Michigan, the Republican Party needs to go back to the drawing board and convince somebody new to get into the race.

“If Romney cannot win Michigan, we need a new candidate,” said the senator, who has not endorsed anyone and requested anonymity.

The senator believes Romney will ultimately win in Michigan but says he will publicly call for the party to find a new candidate if he does not.

[snip]

It would have to be somebody else, the senator said. Who?

“Jeb Bush,” the former Florida governor.

If anybody didn't see this comming they don't know the Republican Party. Those guys are in love with dynasties. I think they'd rather have Prince William but he's already taken.

A third Bush? The country has moved on from these disastrous Bush Gardens. Yes, Jeb Bush might have been the "better Bush" within the obnoxious GOP worldview but I don't think he wants the current race and I don't think the nation wants another Bush this round. Since the GOP got nothing but clowns he may well be viable in 2016 if he wants.

What, they haven't been able to clone Reagan yet?
