Because it is inevitable
I heard this no less than twice on the radio today on my way to work. It's a 40 minute ride.
I can't say I was a big Dave Brubeck fan, but Take Five always makes me think of orange sofas, kidney-shaped coffee tables with drink rings on them, shift dresses, beehive hairstyles, everyone smoking cigarettes, green wall-to-wall carpet, and other assorted midcentury Mad Meniana.
R.I.P. Dave Brubeck, who had a good long run.
