Just wonderin', is all

Why is it that the punditocracy never once opined, let alone the morning after two elections that were far less decisive than this one, that George W. Bush had to make sure to govern from the center? The talking heads on CNN just said "center" or "centrist" about nine times in five minutes.

I think we've just seen the media theme for the next four years. Anything Barack Obama does that is one iota to the left of George W. Bush will be branded as "governing from the left fringe."

Well, I do remember seeing some pundit(s) or other wondering if that would happen and another one saying that W did have a history of it in Texas. That was probably election night, though and not post Gore v. Bush.

Last night history was made, and the direction of the world, not just the United States, changed. What President-elect Barack Obama offers is a new path, a path that has not been taken before, and should not be rushed into. It is a path where all of us will have to work together or we will all fall apart. Barack Obama was not elected to be President of the United States, the idea of Barack Obama was. What we as people of this planet have to do is help in this transformation, because this is not a job for one man, it is a job for us all. Can we do it? Yes We Can.
