Just wonderin', is all, Part 2
Posted by Jill | 7:34 PM
Why is it that when George W. Bush "won" not just one but TWO elections in a questionable way, NO ONE in the press, the punditocracy, or the halls of Washington, told him that he had to govern from the center, to reach out to those who didn't vote for him? Why is it that no one said that George W. Bush had to avoid playing to the worst instincts of his party's base and reach out to those of us who are left of the center? But when Barack Obama wins in what can only be called an ass-whupping, and Brand GOP lies in the gutter, delirious and choking on its own vomited bile, he's told to make nice with conservatives?

As I think Rachel pointed out tonight, George W. had two squeaker elections & somehow had plenty of "capital" to spend.

Over here from gypsylady on LJ. I couldn't agree more! This always happens when Democrats win. The Democrats are supposed to be bipartisan, but nobody ever cares if the Republicans are! It makes no sense. How big a mandate do you want, people?
