Blogrolling in our time: Matt Taibbi

Usually I'm loath to add new big-name bloggers to the blogroll. As regular readers know, I have no patience with bloggers who got in early, or blog for major publiciations, and pull up the ladder behind them. The big-name blogs on this blogroll have either been there since I started this blog in 2004, or else have demonstrated support, however intermittent, for smaller-traffic blogs.

But today I'm adding Matt Taibbi to the blogroll. It isn't that he needs linkitude from me, it's a question of the extraordinary work he's been doing lately, capped but not limited to his great Rolling Stone piece on Goldman Sachs. But in addition to being the kind of investigative journalist of which we see far too little these days, Taibbi's willingness to appear on the late and lamented Break Room Live demonstrates that success hasn't spoiled him. Today, and in an article we're looking forward to reading, he takes on the Obama Administration's capitulation to Republicans, Blue Dogs, and corporations:
Now, obviously (and this is will be explored in more detail in the forthcoming piece, which will be out this week), the public option was not a cure-all. In fact, the Democrats had in reality already managed to kill the public option by watering it down to the point of near-meaninglessness. But the notion that our president not only does not have any use anymore for a public option, but in fact “will be satisfied” if there is merely “choice and competition” in the market is, well, disgusting.

I’ll say this for George Bush: you’d never have caught him frantically negotiating against himself to take the meat out of a signature legislative initiative just because his approval ratings had a bad summer. Can you imagine Bush and Karl Rove allowing themselves to be paraded through Washington on a leash by some dimwit Republican Senator of a state with six people in it the way the Obama White House this summer is allowing Max Baucus (favorite son of the mighty state of Montana) to frog-march them to a one-term presidency?

Listen, you dimwit, a journalist is not a partisan hack, at least not one as obviously biased as is Matt Taibbi. If you think Matt Taibbi is a journalist, you're stupider than I thought you were. And, you wouldn't have linked him, either; since you are a far-lefty partisan asshole who only links people who agree with your pinko version of the U.S.A..

Oh, I went and looked at serr8's page long ago and he cant even format or spell...dont bother even looking because its full of vile crap...so move on past him. A slam from serr8 is like an endorsement that your content is wonderful...so, its opposit day where serr8 is concerned.

Now the subject at hand! Yay Jill!!
you know Im a big fan...and not just because he is on our side or whatever, but because his long research pieces teach me so much about what has gone on. Taibbi is a first rate journalist who does his legwork and has a prime spot in a leading publication...I doubt that serr8 or his ilk is gonna come up with any real information that proves his assertion that Taibbi has been wrong, even al ittle, in any of his pieces...i think actually that group would be hard pressed to read and understand fully any of his major pieces of late. They are too busy killing grandma themselves...
I hope that they all have their ducks in a row because its gonna be hard to take care of them when they end up on public assistance and realize that the folks in the "socialist" world...such as their parents and grandparents...are more than a little like them....sheesh...

Y'know, Im not much for absolute free speech when its inciting riot and the like...and Im not so PC as to not call an inciter and inciter, and Im just asking Jill: is there anyway that this character can be wiped from the B@B airwaves?....
Its a distraction from something that I find to be notable...and I don't have the time for his crap because...well, Em fighting for my life over here...just like we all are.
Some of us want to solve problems and move ahead and some think its funny to wreck everything.
Can we vote him off the island?

Melina, you insipid twit, you should get spell check ('opposite') but with your progressive attitude and altitude it's best you can't spell. Maybe you can get some other people's money to fund your checker...wait, spell check is already FREE! with Firefox, you don't need to pressure the successful people to fund your lazy, unproductive, moocher ways.

"Some of us want to solve problems and move ahead..." well, baby cakes, you should try to solve your own problems first before you come volunteering to solve other's problems. AFAIC, you and your sort are my problem, successful people's problem, this nation's problem, and we'll all be better off when you and your elected leader FAIL. As you and he will; just stick around and watch.

In the meantime, chew on the closest doggie bone you can find. And think of me while you're chewin', fwenchie.
