I love Bollywood musicals -- they took the format and ran with it to even greater heights of fun and sbsurdity. Aishwarya Rai was one of the stars of Bride and Prejudice, which re-envisioned Pride and Prejudice as an contemporary Indian story. Another good cross-over with Americanish setting and Indian musical is Bombay Dreams, which I saw during its Broadway run.
