Wonderful Obama photo essay
Posted by Jill | 7:37 PM
Check out this terrific photo essay from the Obama campaign by Callie Shell. Note in particular the photo of our president-to-be wiping up the counter after himself while eating an ice cream cone. This is NOT a guy who's going to wreck everything and then expect someone else to clean up the mess.

Unlike SOME people.

Ditto ditto.

The ice cream bit is really no surprise, if one has listened to his speeches. But nobody seems to have noticed the rhetoric that runs through them; it's just the right stuff for appealin to all them shiftless colored folks who want to steal our wealth through welfare. You know, like, We can't quit now when there's so much work to do.

Listen to him, and from the start through his victory speech, it's workity work work. I cannot remember a candidate who kept exhorting his supporters to go out and get things done the way he has. The closest was John "Get this country moving again" Kennedy, which is also the first one in which I'd have been old enough to vote under present rules; but I remember that Eisenhower (ha!) and Stevenson didn't talk that way. And Obama's version is more direct and concrete, and more likely to move people to do it.

You know, maybe he means it.
