Steve Gilliard has
what would seem to be a throwaway remark in his blog:
I'm watching Fox, flicking through the channels and an 82 year old woman who called Fox to get rescued. FOX. She had to call FOX to get help. My God.
There are people defending this, because they are like the old commies, the Party is always right.
Isn't it funny, how the right wing is supposed to consist of the old Cold Warriors, the people who persist in believing that Joe McCarthy was right, and who still, when push comes to shove, use the word "commies" to describe anyone who departs from the Bush Junta's script? And yet these are the very same people who absolutely refuse to countenance the idea that Their Leader could EVER be wrong? These are the very same people who worship George W. Bush like a god. They love Big Brother.
I've seen these people. I heard people like this over the weekend. You'll find people like this
here -- people who, if Bush were caught having sex with infants on live television, would say he must have had a good National Security reason to do so, or he's just practicing his love for the little babies, and besides, why do you hate America that you're questioning his motives, and besides, at least he's not a degenerate like that rapist Clinton who got a blowjob.
The defenders of Bush in the face of the Katrina tragedy are like the old, grey men of the old Politburo; the guys who we used to joke had Brezhnev stuffed and put him out when necessary.
It's Party ü uber alles for this bunch.
