Labels: icepick meet forehead, Republicans, Sarah Palin
If as Chambliss claims, Palin "has a future in the Republican Party" (and Chambliss has also been touting his own victory as the "beginning of the resurgence of the Republican Party") that must mean the the politics of bigotry and divisivness that work in backward, politically "fringy" states like Alaska and Georgia will be the centerpiece of the Republican restructuring.
I think that would be great for progressives, as the Republicans, espousing the aggressive "know-nothingness" of Palin and the thinly-veiled bigotry of Chambliss, would drive centrist voters away - and by definition "in the direction of" progressive positions - by droves.
As Jay Leno joked the other night: "Well, Saxby Chambliss is giving Sarah Palin credit for helping him win in Georgia. That's the first candidate she's helped get elected since Barack Obama."
