Yes I Can Has Eight Years of This Plz?

The beginning is standard Biden boilerplate stump speech. But then he really gets going:

A lot of us are going to be disappointed with this message of "move on." But alas, I think Joe Biden may be right. The Bush Administration has so completely wrecked the country, and Senile and the Nitwit have so thoroughly whipped up the hate machine that is the Republican Party, pitting American against American over so-called "issues" that mean nothing, that if this country is to survive we are going to probably have to say, "I don't care who started it. I insist that it stop."

Yes, it means that a lot of very bad people, including George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are going to go free. Yes, it means we won't get to see them marched off to the Hague in order to stand trial for war crimes. But when millions of people are homeless after being foreclosed, and unemployment is up around 8-11%, as some are predicting will happen by next year, what's going to be more important? Fixing the mess or getting revenge?

As Dorothy Parker once said, living well is the best revenge. Let's go show these sniveling, frightened, greedy, venal, ugly, hateful, willfully ignorant mouth-frothers on the right just how civilization is done.

No. No. No. No! No!!!

Remember how that worked out in 1992? That's a terrible idea! We can't give the GOPs next generation of rogues the slightest idea that it's OK to come back in 10-20 years and start this all again. Good Lord, No!

Alas, yes. Wall Street & corporate shenanigans should go to the top of the committee investigation agenda, because it's needed, & at the same time will expose pervasive Repug ( some Democratic) corruption. For Iraq & Afghanistan, same thing. Leave aside blame & look at Halliburton & the privatization of national security, because that system has to be changed.

The immediate "punishment" will come with the firing, demotion, or exile of the ideologues & political commissars the Repugs have running every facet of government, & handing appropriate nonpartisan agencies & programs back to the professionals.

The greatest thing about that Dorothy Parker quote is its actual source: George Herbert, 17-century metaphysical poet. Wrote some rather amazing religious poetry. Collected proverbs, like that one, and eating your cake and having it too, and others you're familiar with from Isaac Newton and Samuel Johnson.

Put me on the side of investigating, pursuing, and meting out justice to those responsible. Aside from the issue of allowing criminals to run free and regroup for their next assault on the Constitution, the closure of fair trials, convictions, and sentences will strengthen our ability to move on, and do what needs to be done. It can happen simultaneously with rebuilding the economy and will enhance the rebuilding of our reputation internationally.

This is one of our five priorities in the immediate future, along with restoring civil rights and the Constitution, the economy, healthcare, and non-oil energy development.

Never mind what Biden, or Obama or anyone says these past two weeks.

First, we win the election.

Then, Obama see's what he has to work with, Senate wise.

Then, he appoints people (dawg just screw me if he chooses Rahm for ANYthing) to cabinet spots and leadership spots.

Then, they purge DOJ, GAO, State Department, and others for Boosh planted Fundie College Grads.

After that, he's gotta generate jobs, raise rich people's taxes, get out of Iraq, reduce the Pentagon budget, nationalize healthcare, restore Fairness Doctrine/Equal Time Provision, bust the media monopoly, bust the energy monopoly, and start a HUGE government works project to generate them jobs I mention.

But bottom line is that it don't matter much what Biden said this week Jill.

It's only gonna matter how fast these two can whip the dem's into shape, and get change done FAST, so that the masses perceive what's being done is in their best interests. They gotta believe, them Heartland Hesitant's. Or it all comes crashing down, all too soon. Again. Same as it ever was.

Here's hoping, not moping, though. Hold feets to fires. Each and every one. Track their votes, track their positions on issues, track their potty breaks. If they don't jump to our whip, we raise hell. On each and every one of them, Pub OR Dem.

Life is simple. Don't mess it up. Pay attention and kick ass. Or lose.
