Just a reminder, especially for those who either don't understand or don't believe that there are problems with electronic DRE voting: If you have HBO, be sure to watch
Hacking Democracy, a documentary on just how insecure, and how badly-designed, and how easily rigged these voting machines -- which 80% of Americans will use next Tuesday -- really are. It's on at 9:00 PM Eastern time, repeating on Saturday at noon and Sunday at 9 AM. Set the TiVO, stay home, do whatever you have to do, but don't miss it.
But don't let it convince you to stay home next Tuesday. On the contrary -- if you have a cell phone with a camera, take that with you when you vote, and photograph your voting process. If you have problems, such as vote-flipping, and require help from a poll worker, take detailed notes on exactly what the poll worker says. If you are not permitted to vote, take detailed notes on the reason(s) they give you. The more information that's compiled about potential shenanigans, the better. There are already reports of vote-flipping out of Florida and Texas, and Ohio minority and elderly voters can count on encountering problems with required identification, minor differences in spelling of home addresses, and other shenanigans designed to keep them from voting. DO. NOT. GIVE. UP. Document everything that happens. Usually there is a central site that takes reports of voting irregularities. I will post the URL as soon as I have it.
