Remember when the Bush Administration told us that we had to invade Iraq NOW, because Saddam Hussein was a threat to the US? Remember comments like these, designed to scare the bejeezus out of Americans so they'd support the war?

Buried in former British Ambasssador Christopher Meyer's new book about Tony Blair's failures in dealing with George Bush in an attempt to either prevent the Iraq war, or at least plan better for its aftermath, is that there WAS no urgency, and that none other than Karl Rove had indicated that it would be all right to wait until the end of 2003 or 2004 to start the war.

Of course, if they'd waited, Bush and Cheney would have had to live with their war hard-ons that much longer, and it would have given the opposition time to gather evidence that the Administration's so-called "intelligence" was completely bogus. And then they would have had to actually do something in the meantime about going after Osama Bin Laden, which of course would NEVER do.
