Is it 1986 again, only the Mets are missing?
Posted by Jill | 10:30 PM

Mookie Wilson and Bill Buckner, the Ralph Branca and Bobby Thompson of the modern era, were signing photos in Westfield, New Jersey this weekend, and now the Houston Astros have broken the playoff game length record set in the Mets 16-inning victory over Houston in the 1986 NLCS by winning an eighteen-inning game against the vile, foul, fascist Atlanta Braves to move ahead in the playoffs. Houston's vile, foul Roger "Bat-Chucker" Clemens came out of the bullpen to throw 44 pitches in the victory.

With any luck at all, the vile, foul, fascist Yankees will similarly be eliminated tonight. I'm rooting for a White Sox/Cardinals series with the Cardinals winning in 6.

Then we wait for the Mets to do what they always do and trade some top pitching prospects for some old guy with a bum leg.
