Dean Day

You'll note in the sidebar today that we have a nice, splashy graphic announcing that this Wednesday, June 15, is Dean Day. This is a day for grassroots activism meant to show the Beltway Emily Posts just who represents real people in this country.

Here are ways you can send a message to Vichy Democrats on Wednesday that capitulating with Republicans on extreme right-wing policies is not the way to be an opposition party:


  • Show that you support Dean by donating to the DNC. Show that we the people can raise funds too

  • Sign the Dean Speaks for Me petition

  • If you're represented by one of those Democrats with the vapors (i.e. Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Dianne Feinstein), or anyone else who's shown faintness of heart in dealing with Republicans, write, call, or e-mail your representatives asking them to please grow a spine with all due haste.

  • Write a letter to the editor of your local paper.
