So, in answer to the question, "Is America past racism against black people," I say the answer is yes.
Of course, nothing magically changed when Obama was declared president-elect. However, our proper concern is not whether racism still exists, but whether it remains a serious problem. The election of Obama proved, as nothing else could have, that it no longer does.
Video has surfaced implicating seven white teenagers in a gruesome June 26 Mississippi hate crime that left one black man mutilated and dead.
The recently released footage shows the teens beating and ultimately running over 49-year-old James Craig Anderson. The suspects reportedly left a Hinds County, Mississippi party together with the intention of finding a black victim and drove to a nearby predominantly black area of Jackson where they attacked Anderson, the first black man they saw upon exiting the highway.
Labels: hate crimes, institutionalized racism
There is no way the wings nuts of Congress would be holding this country hostage if a white guys was POTUS. But because Obama is black, they all dance around calling the uglies by name. I, for one, wish someone on the NYTimes op ed staff would get around to just calling it what it is.
Dress it up in a pinstripe suit and it's still obstructionist racism.
Just yesterday Thomas Sowell, that Judas goat, used his column to promote the conservative lie that the housing bubble burst was the fault of black people given loans they did not deserve due to fairness in lending laws.
In other words...."the economy crashed because the N----rs were allowed to buy houses." It's totally a lie from start to finish.
The reality is that the vast majority of defaulted loans were sold to white people. Many of those loans were sold on the basis of purely fraudulent income and appraisal paperwork and the banks knew it at the highest levels.
The banks made bad loans because they could resell them to CDO's or dump them on Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. Socialism for bank executives.
Who does Limbaugh and Beck blame? Lower middle class blacks. Supported by corporate advertising money that NEVER goes to liberal radio programs.
The racism is FED as a cynical means of dividing the lower classes.
