Around the Blogroll and Elsewhere: The Philadelphia Story Edition

No, the title has nothing to do with the domicile of He Who Must Not Be Mentioned. It has to do with a 3-day Conclave of the System Development Geeks which I am attending. So blogging may be spotty, though that remains to be seen, given that a day that starts at 8:30 AM in the same building in which you've slept in a room sans cat draped over your neck means sleeping till 6 or 6:30, as opposed to home, where blogging in the morning requires a bright and early 5 AM rising time.

But since I have to pack and do some of the work that will not get done while I am attending meetings for the next 3-1/2 days, here's a fistful o'goodies from our friends and neighbors:

Cookie Jill
's environmental roundup will make you want to stick your head in the oven more than you already do.

Krugman sez: You can't reach out to break bread with idiots. (Seriously. Do the Republicans even realize how moronic they sound? Or don't they care? After all, this is a party that turned a welfare-collectin' meathead into a populist conservative hero.)

John Cole wonders why anyone even listens to Jim Cramer anymore anyway. And so do I, especially after reading this.

dCap reveals the official video from CPAC.

Driftglass: Never confuse Henry Rollins with Ed Rollins.

Blue Girl takes on WaPo's Jackson (No) Diehl and presents him with the coveted
Most. Ridiculous. Column. Ever. Award
.

And speaking of idiots, remember that attorney in Louisiana who said she'd slack off to keep her income under $250,000? Daniel Gross at Slate.com crunches the numbers and reveals that she, and others like her, are essentially pointing the gun at their own heads and saying "Nobody move, or I'll shoot!"

Brad Friedman: Isn't it time for Norm Coleman to show proof of that supposed ACORN fraud that supposedly cost him the election?
