Friday American Idiot Blogging

I may just make this a regular feature.

Today's Idiot: Tennessee Democratic Party Executive Committee member Fred Hobbs, for this remark about why he thinks Democratic Rep. Lincoln Davis has not yet endorsed Barack Obama:

“Maybe [it’s] the same reason I don’t want to — I don’t exactly approve of a lot of the things he stands for and I’m not sure we know enough about him,” ...He’s got some bad connections, and he may be terrorist connected for all I can tell. It sounds kind of like he may be.”

WHY are you surprised at this? It was only last Monday that you posted "OK, so how do we get these people to realize that John McCain is not going to make their lives any better?" about Mississippi.

Mr Davis' district BORDERS Mississippi. The differences between rural Tennessee and most of Mississippi is almost indistinguishable.

It is not in Mr Davis' personal interest to have well educated voters. First, he'd be unemployed quickly, and second, he'd no longer be among the "elite" and well connected.

If it takes being uncertain about Obama's "terrorism" connection, well so be it....

He can -- and doubtless will -- spin it that he didn't actually call Mr Obama a "terrorist".....

I didn't check the racial composition of Mr Davis' district. But it is doubtless better to call Mr Obama a terrorist than to criticize his race.

It would be nice to see Obama have enough influence to get this misanthrope kicked off of the Executive Committee.
