The U.S. military is on the offensive in the War on Terror (search) to prevent terrorists from reaching America's shores, President Bush said Friday, adding that 20 years from now, historians will look back on the Iraq war as "America's golden moment."


In Bush's bizarro world, Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the storming of the beach at Normandy, the first moon landing, the first space walk, the Emancipation Proclamation, Lyndon Johnson's signing of the Civil Rights Bill -- none of these will matter, because a war based on lies, one in which he hasn't got a frickin' clue what to do, will be "America's Golden Moment."

If he's right, we are in even deeper shit than I thought.
